The queue

8 places, and every entrant is guaranteed a duel within 12 hours - if a bid would push someone past that, the engine takes them next and ignores the auction.

A SEPARATE LANE - NOBODY IS DISPLACED

No bids on the next slot yet.

A bid buys a round slot, not a place in the queue. Nobody is ever removed - the queue moves back one round, and everyone who moved back earns a free vote for their own duel. Every 3rd round is reserved for the queue regardless of bidding.
